Hello there you beautiful souls! How are we all and hope you’re keeping safe? I believe the last time I was checking in on here I was announcing my leap into self-employment and finding my routine working from home. Well, little did I know that Ms Rona was just around the corner to come and shake the already wobbly table ay! I spoke briefly about my anxiety and finding my way during this pandemic over on my Instagram. Since then it’s been a cocktail of “This is fine”, overwhelmingly sad feelings, and completely numb-to-everything days. However, recently me and Pete have introduced one small gratitude habit into our days and the difference it’s made for our mental health and perspective during this time has been lovely to acknowledge.
The habit is super simple. What are you grateful for today and every single day? I’ve decided to accumulate a list of the things that have sparked a whole lotta joy from over the week, so I can brain dump it here. Welcome to the weekly feel-good!
- Queenie by Candie Carty-williams – the perfect read to get you outside of your head and into the wonderful world of Queenie. I really wish I was her friend.
- This Sleeper ‘Atlanta’ dress which arrived via the amazing Bethany at Studio B Fashion this week – it was a birthday treat to myself and it makes me feel 10/10. Bethany provided such an amazing customer experience for me and as a one-woman small business, I felt honoured to support her and her amazing boutique!
- I’ve been sleeping pretty poorly since lockdown (lets not mention my alcohol intake today). However the L’Occitane Immortelle Overnight Reset serum has been a skin saviour!
- Aunty Paula at Hillhouse Vintage – her Instagram and blog bring me so much joy – a MUST follow.
- Lucy Sheridan’s free coaching sessions live on Instagram and Facebook. Lucy is such a ray of sunshine and makes me feel like my best self so effortlessly. You can find free sessions on how to stop comparison and make your business a success daily. In her recent live ‘How to gain & retain unshakeable believe in yourself & your business’ I legit cried. It seriously resonated with me and the passion and sincerity that Lucy has is just unmatched.
- Finding Mattie James on Instagram – a straight talking, inspiring and motivational bundle of JOY. She gets me together in her live talks on creating content, how to be more productive and achieve my goals – I would really recommend following if you’re struggling creatively like I’ve been.
- Listening to, loving and majorly relating to the ‘Is This Working?’ podcast.
- Emily aka Style Lobster‘s ‘Lockdown’ vlog – like me she also spent her birthday in lockdown and it made me feel all warm and fuzzy seeing how she’s been keeping sane through all of this. Mega inspiring babe.
- Zoom sweat sessions with the mega babe Jenna Nichols – I don’t usually look forward to HIT sessions but Jenna makes it so much fun! I didn’t realise what a difference having other people around makes. It’s been a real mood booster.
- This blog post on mental health during lockdown by Hannah Gale – it’s like Hannah is in my mind and it’s so beautifully written.
- Sorry for this not so humble brag but it really made my week… I recently found out I was featured in Stylist – one of my favourite online magazines – EEEK!
- Evening walks with Pete and Cooper to play hide and seek – albeit a little chaldish but SO. MUCH. FUN .
- Rediscovering Gossip Girl on Netflix – I haven’t watched it for years and pretty sure I didn’t actually finish it… I’ve been enjoying jumping back into the world of Serena Van Der Woodsen and ‘Lonely boy’.
- This amazing weather that we’re having (OK maybe not this week..). But for the majority of quarantine days, waking up to sunshine is something I haven’t taken for granted.
Give it a try and tell me all the things you’re grateful for this week?
