I’m really happy we’re finally entering the colder months. I find dressing for autumn/winter so much easier than tran-seasonal dressing, don’t you?!
I seem to be having a lot of “I have nothing to wear” meltdowns lately. Mainly because my wardrobe is full of out of fashion-fast fashion if I’m honest. So when it comes to throwing on something for work in the morning, looking through my drawers at countless tea dresses and crop tops is overwhelming to say the least. It makes me want to crawl back into my bed and curl up into a little ball just thinking about the sheer effort of it all.
That’s when I realised it’s about time I create some day to day, fail-safe outfits and focus on investing in key pieces.
Now, if I had to describe my style, I’d say it’s minimal and pretty (I sound like a hoot, right?). I’m all about feminine dresses, pretty florals and girly statement pieces you see. And when I dress myself in the morning, I want to be able to quickly throw something on but also feel amazing.
So after countless hours stalking the most stylish babes on Pinterest, I came across the Nangong silk robe trend. The silk robe coat is a luxe addition to any wardrobe; it’s flattering, versatile and pretty; just what I needed. It elevates any look, especially paired with a simple t-shirt and jeans. It also looks incredibly chic and polished when thrown over a dress for a night-out.
Lets not forget to mention the incredible embroidered design on the back of this baby. Since Gucci and Valentino created their runway designs with embroidery, it wasn’t long before similar designs were all over the high street. Naturally I got on board pretty fast and purchased this embroidered beauty from River Island. I like to call that two trends; one item.
Moving on to the jeans – if you would’ve told me I’d be wearing a cropped, kick flare every day I would of laughed. Not only are these the comfiest jeans I’ve worn in a long time they also showcase ankle boots so beautifully.
Finally my patent boots – these are one of my favourite buys this month. They go with so many outfits (day or night), make me feel sassy af, the heel isn’t too high and they were only £40! Barg.
I think I’m on my way to making better choices when I’m out shopping and learning to be less impulsive. So stay tuned on my quest to find luxe basics for every occasion.
What’s your every day style?
