Unlike Mondays I’m going to keep this short and sweet.
So, you had a great weekend; maybe a night on the town with the girls, a chilled weekend with family or even just a night in front of the telly with a glass of wine or four (guilty).
But before you know it it’s Monday morning. The office has an eerie silence. All you want to do is comfort eat (just me?) and the thought of taking on this weeks 1638363892 tasks is daunting af.
I don’t necessarily hate Mondays but I can’t say that I love them either. Nothing kills my vibe more than that extreme sluggish, tired feeling. And going back to my 6am alarm to hit the gym for circuits just isn’t my idea of fun.
Even though it’s tempting to cancel that snooze button, tell Monday to do one and get back to my sweet slumber. I’ve found a few routine tricks that help kick start my week, the right way.
How you spend your Monday can set the tone for the rest of your week. So here are a few tips on how to make the most out of your day – thank me later.
Zion 1. Treat yo self
Now, I don’t mean go and rack up debt because you have no self-control on ASOS. I mean treat yourself to the little things. Grab that morning hot chocolate with extra cream, marshmallows AND sprinkles. That blouse or dress you’ve been saving for best? Wear it. Favourite lunch spot looking tempting? Book a table. Need some time out? Light some scented candles, run yourself one extravagant bubble bath and make Solange ‘A Seat at the Table’ your soundtrack. Treat. Yo. Self.

Although I curse the world when my gym alarm goes off, the feeling after a workout is like no other. Wake up and get active. Whether it’s a stroll around the block or a spin class that blasts your favourite music. Get that blood pumping and those happy endorphins flowing!
3. Find your happy place
If you’re easily pleased like me a night of trashy reality TV is a guilty pleasure. I look forward to coming home, putting on my fugly (but warm) pyjamas, climbing into my duvet and watching Made in Chelsea on a Monday night. I also make it a routine to read my favourite blogs/websites throughout the day. Because what’s a Monday without a cat gif? So why not read your favourite book/magazine? Plan a Facetime call with your bestie. Prepare your favourite meal for dinner. Put on your favourite film and have a good old slap of the knee, belly laugh. In conclusion; do more of what makes you happy.
4. Make plans and get organised
To do list looking scary? Take a deep breath and break it down bit by bit. It’s important to prioritise and make your Mondays as stress-free as possible. Set yourself weekly goals that you’d like to achieve and this will motivate you to quickly check things off your list!
5. ‘BMB’ – Be More Beyonce
Real talk – you have the exact same hours in the day as Beyonce. If that doesn’t motivate you then I’m not sure what will. Go get em.
