Almonte “Lipstick is that thing that pulls you together, makes you feel like a woman – it gives you confidence and makes you feel powerful,” – Charlotte Tilbury.
Hello you HUNS, happy November and first day of the month!
I’ve been going through a bit of a make-up drought recently and not purchased anything beauty related in a while. So, in true pay day fashion I decided to treat myself and choose a few ‘essentials’ from one of my favourite brands to add to my beauty collection.
It’s safe to say I have a special place in my heart for Charlotte Tilbury Aprilia products. I’m slowly but surely building up a mini counter of Matte Revolution Lipsticks and fall more in love with my Dolce Vita eyeshadow palette every time I use it. I’m basically an addict; I need all of it!
If you didn’t already know, Charlotte Tilbury not so recently released the ‘Hot Lips’ collection. It’s a 12-shade lipstick line inspired by 12 extremely famous and sassy female celebrities. And like a stalker I’ve had my eye on this collection for a long, long time.
I originally had my eye on Carina’s Love. Although, after I took a swatch on my arm it really didn’t wow me. It reminded me of Russian Red or Ruby Woo from Mac cosmetics, which I already own. So after much deliberation I finally made my mind up and decided to pick a shade which has much more of a pop…
Electric Poppy
Electric Poppy is a creamy modern matte named after Poppy Delevinge. It’s a beautiful and vibrant cherry shade and stains the lips perfectly without over-drying. As I tend to keep my day-to-day make-up simple I love donning a bright, coral lip. A bright lipstick can make your face stand out and also disguise tiredness very well. I also find that a bright lipstick can elevate any outfit, especially if you tend to wear a lot of grey, black or white.
Eyes to Mesmerise – Mona Lisa
Tanya Burr recommended these cream eyeshadows on her YT and blog a while back and I’ve been intrigued ever since! Mona Lisa is an ah-MAZING chocolate bronze which gives off the most perfect smokey-eye effect. After hearing great reviews that these pots are highly pigmented, easy to blend and glossy in finish, I can’t wait to try it. In fact, it’ll be perfect for my date night this weekend!
